Why building a new shelter

The old Eastern Townships SPA shelter facilities was threatening the continuity and quality of its services. It was facing daily the following problems:

  • The premises were much too small for the daily influx of citizens and animals;
  • Adoption pens were far too small, both for cats and dogs, and was not meeting standards for animal care;
  • Work equipments were obsolete and were require immediate replacement;
  • Major investments would have been required to repair or simply replace the following:
    • the roof,
    • heating and ventilation systems,
    • the covering of walls and floors.

The old place was obsolete, too small and the land was not allowing us to enlarge the building once again. The move option then became the only way out.
